Sam Ramirez Jr.
was born and raised in San Jose, California. Sam began his career in the Bar and Night Club industry in 1986 as a Bouncer and Head of Security at The Library. It is here that Sam realized his passion and dream to one day become a bar and Restaurant owner operator. Sam worked his way up throughout the Bar and Night Club Industry and worked in various capacities (Security, Bartender, Promoter, Bar Manager, Operations, Back Office, Owner, etc.). Sam has worked and been an integral part of numerous successful establishments throughout the Bay Area.
In 2002 Sam took over The Cardiff Lounge in Historical Downtown Campbell, as the Owner/Operator. Because of Sam’s efforts and entertainment expertise, over the past 20 years, The Cardiff Lounge has become an icon in the Bay Area for its eclectic music scene.
In 2011 Sam expanded his ventures as a partner with The Last Call Group in opening El Guapo’s Tacos in downtown Campbell. Sam worked as a consultant working closely with the management team at Opa to help them expand their brand.
The Continental Bar, Lounge & Patio is Sam's latest establishment. Located in the heart of the SoFa District in Downtown San Jose, The Continental brings live music, soul funk disco jazz and world class house Djs and craft cocktails/beer for local residences, businesses and convention visitors. In addition to his business ventures Sam also has involved himself in local leadership including senior fellow with American Leadership Foundation (ALF). He has served as an executive board member for San Jose downtown association. Sam was recognized by the State Assembly as the 2019 Business of the year for assembly district 27th.
